We provide a strong foundation so you are ready to have the career of your dreams.

Introspective Family Therapy’s Integrated Training Program inspires our interns to become leaders in Marriage and Family Therapy by being embodied therapists.  Our training program is demanding on every level: body, heart, mind, and spirit. We create a learning community that is both profoundly challenging and deeply supportive.

At Introspective Family Therapy, we lead by example. Our aim is to help our clients to restore their sense of family, to feel supported and secure in relationships and to be safe and seen in their communities. Our mission comes from our strong desire to create a holding space for clients, knowing that a safe holding space will allow the clients’ process to unfold in whatever way it needs to, so that ultimately they are moving towards growth, love, connection, transformation and wellness. Our training program is structured the same way.

Introspective’s integrated training program offers a fine balance between interns learning how to apply various MFT approaches that are learned in school and developing their own intuitive style that is true to themselves. In addition to traditional MFT/systemic approaches to therapy, Interns will receive training in somatic and psychospiritual approaches to therapy. Interns will also be trained in our specific collaborative process, which is a highly effective model for systemic work. Working closely on shared cases, interns will learn how to navigate complex family dynamics and how to hold individual and relational parts of the family system at the same time.

As a part of our commitment to introspection and reflective practice, all interns will be required to be engaged in their own work and process, confronting countertransference and their own vulnerabilities. Our intention is to guide you in “being” a therapist, rather than simply “doing” therapy.

  • Interns will receive a full-year of clinical training, individual supervision and group supervision.

  • Interns will have opportunities to work with our skilled therapist staff as well as learn the ins and outs of networking, creating a practice, and maintaining a caseload.

  • Interns coming out of our training program may have the option to apply for an Associate position at Introspective or Sol.

  • Interns will gain extensive experience, training and knowledge so they will be prepared to enter the field with competency and confidence.
